“I started talking to Francisco Costa and his team in October - but not about Oscars because Saoirse is very superstitious and she wouldn’t address the possibility of an Oscar nomination until it happened,” Saltzman tells The Telegraph. ”Then on January 14th, literally hours after it was announced she’d got a nomination we started doing sketches.”This dress was a bit sexier than we’re used to seeing Saoirse in this awards season. Was that a deliberate move?
“I’d done a test drive with Saoirse at the Britannia awards, where she was also wearing a Calvin Klein dress. It was the first time she’d worn a feminine sultry dress and I noticed she’d referenced in interviews that it was one of her favourite looks so I thought she was ready to take that direction.”
